Finding the right prom style dress

Before I go into crazy Christmas party season, I wanted to post my latest look. Finding a dress for a black-tie event is a struggle especially when you attend a couple a year. Most of my dresses had been worn to death, and I’m not into spending lots of money on something you’ll barely wear more than 3 times in your life.  When I know I’m going to an award, I usually go down the PLT, Misguided, Boohoo and ASOS route to get something decent and inexpensive. Yet again, Missguided saved the day. 

At first, I wasn’t feeling the dress was wow enough, and the peach colour isn’t one I’d normally go for. Additionally, the one shoulder cut is not what I’m not accustomed to, and I thought the dress itself was too simple. When I put it on however, different story. The knot and the ruched detail on the waist is so flattering and the high slit on the side makes it sexy. I think this is the sort of dress that would work for any body shape as it covered all my sins and extenuated my curves. Additionally, the light fabric makes it comfortable while maxi length makes it appropriate for black tie. Because of the colour, this dress is also going to be ideal for summer events be it a wedding or the races.

With regards to my hair, I decided to go for my long wavy wig. While my hair is still going through the growing stages, it’s nice to be able to switch things up my whenever I want with a decent piece. Getting ready for events like this are part of the fun because you transform into a different person but it’s equally rewarding when you get home and get comfortable.(enter my fleece onesie).
