It’s taken me a very LONG time to feel
confident and comfortable enough to go out au natural. By this I mean no hair,
no makeup, no, lashes, no tinted moisturiser, no NOTHING. But finally, I’m
here. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of the above but every now and then, it
feels good to go out bare. I tend to go makeup free at least three times a week
because if I don’t, I’ll break out in spots. I have sensitive skin so even
though I love to contour and highlight to the gods, my skin needs downtime.
For most of the holidays I go on, this
is my go-to look. But the hustle and bustle of London life doesn’t allow me as
much as I would like and then when Winter comes, I need hair coverage. I do find it astonishing that me going
out with no hair or makeup can conjure up so many different reactions; Some
don’t bat an eyelid, some stare in shock while others smile or compliment me,
as if I were a poster child for going natural. And yet men get to do that every
day… with no reaction at all.
Living 15 mins away from Hampstead
Heath means I get to milk this summer as much as possible. On my day off, I can
leisurely walk down, pick a spot and enjoy some much-needed vitamin D. I would
advise anyone who lives near any park to do the same as we just don’t know how
long it will last. Go on… have an au natural day at an au natural
park. You’ll love it!
